Emart Launches 5th Round of 'E-Word' Event
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Emart is launching the 5th round of its cashback promotion 'E-ward.' This E-ward event features products that are ideal for gifting to family and oneself, reflecting the demand for Chuseok gifts.
To broaden the range of choices, this event has added new categories such as furniture and sports equipment in addition to home appliances, increasing the number of products from 4 to 6.
Starting from the 3rd, Emart will accept applications for the E-ward event on a first-come, first-served basis for 1,800 customers at 131 Emart stores and 7 Electromart stores located outside Emart. The event products include De'Longhi coffee machines, Samsung Notebook 7, Bodyfriend massage chairs, Decoline yellow soil beds, and XXIO golf clubs.
The contract terms vary depending on the event product. For the 'De'Longhi Fully Automatic Coffee Machine (limited to 300 units),' the monthly payment is KRW 300,000 with a 25-month shopping contract, and the estimated monthly installment is KRW 27,960. For the 'XXIO11 Women's Iron Set (7-piece set, limited to 150 units),' the monthly payment is KRW 400,000 with a 35-month shopping contract, and the estimated monthly installment is KRW 42,900.
To participate in E-ward, customers must visit an Emart store where event registration is available, fill out a participation form, and purchase the eligible event product with a Hyundai Card using a 25-month or 35-month interest-free installment plan. Then, by shopping with the designated card for the contracted amount at Emart and Electromart stores nationwide from the 1st to the end of each month, the monthly installment amount will be cashback to the payment account around the 25th of the following month.
The monthly installment for the first month of subscription is supported unconditionally regardless of whether the shopping contract is fulfilled, and customers who are already participating in the E-ward event with Hyundai Card cannot enroll additionally.
Meanwhile, the E-ward event is contributing to expanding Emart's customer base while boosting sales. According to participation data from E-ward rounds 1 to 4, about 45% of customers who participated were new customers. The monthly average purchase amount of E-ward customers increased by approximately 40% compared to before participation, and the number of purchases also rose by 30%.
At the same time, Traders will hold a separate E-ward event for 950 customers on a first-come, first-served basis at all Traders stores (except Kintex branch) during the same period. Participation is possible with Samsung Card.
