The police officer who made him do push-ups said, "It was not to punish the groom for not wearing a mask, but to raise awareness about the importance of wearing masks," and added, "The police will visit any event held in the village to ensure compliance with health guidelines."
He said, "Although guidelines such as limiting the number of guests, sitting apart, and installing handwashing sinks at the entrance of the wedding hall were well followed, the groom, bride, and dozens of guests were not wearing masks, so masks were distributed one by one."
Recently, Indonesia discovered a variant virus 'D614G' that is more contagious but less fatal than the existing COVID-19.
