Jangseong-gun Promotes Environmental Improvement Through Rural Vacant House Renovation Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 31st that it is promoting the ‘Rural Vacant House Maintenance Project,’ which supports demolition costs for owners who voluntarily demolish vacant houses, thereby encouraging environmental improvement in villages.
The project targets rural houses and buildings that have been unoccupied or unused for more than one year.
Jangseong-gun has completed the project for 88 out of 140 buildings planned for this year and is currently accepting applications for the remaining 52 buildings on an ongoing basis.
Applications can be submitted to the administrative welfare centers of the relevant towns or townships with the building register or building registration certificate that can verify ownership attached.
The subsidy amount is 1 million KRW per building and is paid in a lump sum after project completion.
Additionally, buildings with slate roofs can receive additional support for slate removal costs.
Up to 3.44 million KRW for houses and up to 1.72 million KRW for non-residential buildings are available. The application period is until the end of next month, and demolition costs exceeding the support amount must be borne by the owner.
