[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is hosting the ‘Songpa Ssaem 2021 University Entrance Exam Briefing (hereafter Songpa Ssaem Entrance Exam Briefing)’ with renowned domestic entrance exam experts.
This event is the first university entrance exam briefing independently organized by the district to assist examinees and parents who are struggling due to recent changes in the entrance exam system, such as the introduction of non-face-to-face evaluations amid COVID-19.
The ‘Songpa Ssaem Entrance Exam Briefing’ will be held in three sessions aligned with the entrance exam schedule starting from September, when early application submissions begin. The topics include ▲Strategies for early admission screening ▲Analysis of the September mock exam and entrance exam strategies ▲Analysis of the actual scored results of the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) and regular admission application strategies.
In particular, the district has invited well-known domestic entrance exam experts as lecturers to share strategies and secrets to success tailored to the rapidly changing university entrance environment.
The first briefing will be held on September 14 at 2 p.m. at Songpa-gu Office. Jin Dong-seop, former admissions officer at Seoul National University and the real-life model of the entrance exam consultant in the drama 'SKY Castle,' will participate. He will cover Q&A for early admission starting September 23, precautions for early application, and tips for self-introduction letters and interviews.
The second briefing will take place on September 21 at 1:30 p.m. at Songpa-gu Office. Lee Man-gi, a former star lecturer and director of Uway Education Evaluation Research Institute, will participate. He will provide an in-depth analysis of the ‘2021 College Scholastic Ability Test Mock Exam’ held on September 16 and suggest entrance exam strategies to prepare for the CSAT.
After the CSAT, the final briefing will be held to provide customized analysis of the actual scored results and strategies for regular admission applications.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the district will conduct the briefings both on-site and online. On-site participation is limited to fewer than 50 people and requires prior registration via phone at the Songpa-gu Office Education Cooperation Division or through the Songpa-gu Lifelong Learning Center website. Online participation is available to anyone through the live broadcast on ‘Songpa Ssaem YouTube.’
The briefing format or number of participants may change depending on the COVID-19 situation.

Mayor Park Seong-su stated, “We have established ‘Songpa Ssaem,’ Songpa-gu’s unique education support system, to support the education field struggling due to COVID-19 in various ways,” and added, “We hope this briefing will provide practical help to examinees and parents who are confused ahead of the CSAT.”
