Seongdong-gu Hosts Nation's First 'Drive-in 2021 College Admission Information Session'
On September 3rd at 6:30 PM, large screen and stage set up at Salgotgi Park, accommodating 200 cars... Expert analysis on university admission processes and support strategies, including Hanyang University admission briefing
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) will hold the first drive-in (DRIVE-IN) style college entrance briefing session for high school seniors and their parents who are anxious about the upcoming college entrance exams.
At this time of year, college entrance briefing sessions are held everywhere, attracting many students and parents, marking the start of the full-scale entrance exam information battle.
However, this year is different. Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and its resurgence, large-scale briefing sessions like in previous years are impossible.
Accordingly, Seongdong-gu will hold the ‘Drive-in 2021 College Entrance Briefing Session’ on September 3rd at 6:30 PM at Salgotyi Sports Park, where a large screen and stage will be set up, allowing participants to attend the briefing session from inside their cars.
Unlike the previous large-scale indoor events held at the district office auditorium, this non-face-to-face untact briefing session allows students and parents to listen vividly to live lectures by experts through a large screen and designated radio frequencies while seated in their vehicles.
The first part of the briefing will be a special lecture on ‘2021 College Entrance Exam Preparation’ by Kim Hyung-il, director of the ‘Giant’s Shoulders Education Research Institute,’ providing detailed strategies for successful admission through the comprehensive student record screening process. The second part will be a session titled ‘Briefing with Hanyang University Admissions Officers,’ providing entrance information for Hanyang University located in Seongdong-gu.
An official from the district stated, “A total of 200 vehicles can participate, and before the event, temperature checks and hand sanitization will be conducted. The briefing will proceed under strict quarantine rules including mandatory mask-wearing and refraining from moving outside the vehicles.”
Mayor Jung Won-oh said, “This briefing session was prepared to help high school seniors and their parents who are facing triple hardships due to COVID-19, such as delayed school attendance, postponed application submissions, and lack of college entrance information. Although the situation is difficult, this is a crucial time for high school seniors, so we will continue to pay close attention and make efforts to support their college entrance preparations.”
The briefing session is open to students and any interested residents, and online pre-registration is available through the Seongdong-gu website starting from the 28th. On-site registration is also possible if space permits.
