Fila Unveils Special Limited Edition Tennis Shoes for Player Kwon Soon-woo
Limited Quantity First-Come, First-Served Sale on Official Online Mall
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Global sports brand Fila announced on the 28th that it will release a limited quantity of the "Kwon Soon-woo Special Edition" tennis shoes to support the performance of Kwon Soon-woo (world ranking 71), who represents South Korean tennis, at the ATP Tour US Open.
Fila, which has been sponsoring Kwon Soon-woo since last year, planned this project to provide more support to Kwon Soon-woo through broader public interest and encouragement.
This special limited edition is the 'Excellus 2 Energized' tennis shoe that Kwon Soon-woo actually wears in tournaments. It was developed through joint research and development by Fila's global R&D center, the Fila Lab Biomechanics Center, and the Human Performance Lab at the University of Calgary in Canada. It is also famous as the shoe worn by Ashleigh Barty (Australia) and Timea Babos (Hungary) when they won the singles and doubles titles respectively at last year's French Open.
This product uses a self-developed Energized foam to reduce weight and increase breathability. Additionally, through scientific analysis and in-depth testing, the Excellus Energized was developed to be optimized for the sport of tennis.
In particular, Fila specially manufactures and provides the tennis shoes (Excellus 2 Energized) exclusively for Kwon Soon-woo, and this limited edition is engraved with Kwon Soon-woo's initials on the front, identical to the ones he wears. The limited edition will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis starting today on Fila's official online mall.
A Fila representative said, "This event was planned with the hope that Kwon Soon-woo will perform well in international tournaments," adding, "We hope many people will join in supporting Kwon, and we will continue to make various efforts to help Kwon showcase his world-class skills to the fullest."
