[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu District Office (Mayor Park Jun-hee) and Seoul National University are recruiting students for the 2nd session of the Seoul National University Museum of Art Modern Art and Culture online course, which will open in September.
This course, conducted as an academic-government cooperation project between the district and Seoul National University, aims to enhance understanding of culture and arts, providing differentiated and high-quality arts and culture education that helps improve quality of life and self-realization.
The lectures consist of 12 sessions covering Korean modern art from the Enlightenment period, war, postmodernism, to the post-internet era, and will be held online every Thursday starting from September 10.
Professors from Seoul National University and experts in the respective fields participate by producing and editing videos directly at the Seoul National University Central Library, allowing participants to freely attend from home or any preferred location.
Participants will receive the online URL via text message, enabling easy access through the link. The number of participants is limited to 130 adults, with a total of 12 sessions lasting 2 hours each.
Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until September 9, and course registration and detailed information can be found on the Seoul National University Museum of Art website.
The tuition fee is 20,000 KRW.

Mayor Park Jun-hee stated, “This online lecture will relieve the cultural and artistic thirst of residents exhausted by COVID-19,” and added, “We will continue to accelerate the creation of Gwanak as a lifelong learning city through various academic-government cooperation projects utilizing Seoul National University’s human resources.”
