On the 27th, Gijang-gun announced that in preparation for the prolonged COVID-19 situation, it will completely suspend budget execution for events, festivals, education, projects, and subsidies that cannot be carried out, and concentrate these funds on indoor disinfection support for COVID-19.
Oh Gyu-seok, the head of Gijang-gun, said, "This is the toughest long-term battle against COVID-19. In war, complacency is the greatest enemy. Starting with our 800 public officials, tighten the tension even more and mobilize all administrative power to secure the budget for this long-term battle."
Mayor Oh instructed, "Focus the budget immediately on urgent quarantine efforts, and have the Infectious Disease Quarantine Team and the Eup-Myeon Quarantine Teams concentrate on indoor disinfection of medium-risk facilities, large cafes, and meat sales stores."
Gijang-gun will conduct disinfection in 879 medium-risk facilities within the jurisdiction, including academies with fewer than 300 people, arcades, general restaurants (over 150㎡), performance halls, movie theaters, bathhouses, indoor sports facilities, and funeral homes.
Additionally, although excluded from Busan City's designated medium-risk facilities, 64 locations such as rest area restaurants (including large cafes over 150㎡) and large meat sales stores, which are relatively more exposed to infection, will be included, totaling 943 locations targeted for indoor disinfection.
Starting from the 27th, Gijang-gun will have the Infectious Disease Quarantine Team and five Eup-Myeon Quarantine Teams jointly conduct disinfection at these businesses in sequence.
Through quarantine support, the burden on small business owners will be reduced, and the anxiety of visitors to these establishments due to COVID-19 will also be alleviated.
