Seoul Reports 114 New COVID-19 Cases in One Day... Total 544 Linked to Sarang Jeil Church (Update)

[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The number of new daily confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Seoul has been exceeding 100 for consecutive days.

As of midnight on the 26th, Seoul City announced that 112 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the past day, bringing the total cumulative confirmed cases in Seoul to 3,232.

There was an increase of 10 cases related to the Seongbuk-gu Sarang Jeil Church cluster infection, bringing the total number of confirmed cases related to this church in Seoul to 544 so far.

Additionally, there were 4 new cases related to Yeouido Full Gospel Church, 1 related to Dongdaemun-gu Full Gospel Gangbuk Church, and 1 related to Uri Jeil Church in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi Province, totaling 16 new church-related confirmed cases.

Three new cases were added related to the Gwanghwamun rally, 2 related to the theater group 'San', and 1 related to Gangnam-gu's 'Gold Train'.

Besides these, there were 2 imported cases from overseas, 6 cases who had contact with confirmed patients from other cities or provinces, and 42 cases classified as 'others'. Among the new confirmed cases, 40 patients with unknown infection routes were also included.

Seoul reported its 17th death. An 85-year-old female patient died on the day she was confirmed positive on the 25th.
