Gyeongnam Province Activates Emergency Level 1 in Preparation for Typhoon 'Bavi' Approaching North

Emergency Level 1 involves increasing the Disaster Countermeasures Headquarters staff to 36 personnel across 13 collaborative departments at the provincial office, and related agencies entering a work stage to prepare for the typhoon.
The province will enter this work system starting on the 26th as the entire country is expected to be within the typhoon's influence zone, with heavy rain and strong winds anticipated.
Earlier, Deputy Governor Ha Byung-pil held a situation assessment meeting at the Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters in the afternoon of the previous day and decided to activate Emergency Level 1 from the morning of the 26th and dispatch on-site situation managers to cities and counties.

Deputy Governor Ha said, "From the morning of the 26th, five cities and counties including Hadong, Tongyeong, Sacheon, Goseong, and Namhae are expected to fall within the direct or indirect influence zone of the typhoon due to the Korea Meteorological Administration's preliminary typhoon special warning," adding, "Since damage from strong winds and heavy rain is a concern, please closely monitor the typhoon's path during emergency duty and make efforts to minimize damage."
