14 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Suncheon City on the 25th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] On the 25th, 14 additional COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Suncheon to 34, with 29 new cases confirmed within six days after the 5th confirmed case on the 20th.
All 14 of these new cases are believed to have been infected either by visiting Cheongam Fitness & Spa, which the 15th confirmed case visited repeatedly every day, or through gatherings and meals with the 15th confirmed case.
The 21st confirmed case is a woman in her 50s living in Gold Class Apartments in Ocheon-dong, presumed to have been infected at Cheongam Fitness, and the daycare center Shindae Purni where she works has been closed.
The 22nd confirmed case is a woman in her 50s residing in Sangsa-myeon, a painter, presumed to have been infected at Cheongam Fitness, and is affiliated with the Jo Gang-hoon Studio.
The 23rd confirmed case is a woman in her 40s living in Cheongmirae 2nd Apartments in Deokwol-dong, presumed to have been infected through a gathering with the 15th confirmed case on the 19th,
and the 24th confirmed case is a woman in her 30s living in Lotte Castle Apartments in Wangji-dong, also presumed to have been infected at Cheongam Fitness.
The 25th confirmed case is a man in his 30s living in Inje-dong, presumed to have been infected at Cheongam Fitness, and the Suncheonman National Garden, his workplace, has been closed.
The 26th confirmed case is a woman in her 70s living in Woosung Apartments in Deokwol-dong; the 27th confirmed case is a man in his 50s living in Byeollyang-myeon; the 28th confirmed case is a woman in her 60s living in Geumdang Grean Apartments; the 29th confirmed case is a teenager university student living in Deokwol-dong; the 30th confirmed case is a teenage university student living in Shinbo Apartments in Deokwol-dong; the 31st confirmed case is a man in his 20s living in Haeryong Woomi Apartments; and the 32nd confirmed case is a woman in her 20s living in Yeonhyang-dong?all of whom visited Cheongam Fitness.
The 33rd confirmed case is a woman in her 50s living in Woosung Apartments in Deokwol-dong, presumed to have been infected after dining with the 15th confirmed case on the 21st, and the 34th confirmed case is a woman in her 20s living in Namjeong-dong, also presumed to have been infected at Cheongam Fitness.
Suncheon City received notification of the 14 confirmed cases on the 25th and is currently assigning isolation facilities. Seven locations visited by the confirmed cases?including Prestige Academy, Shindae Purni Daycare Center, Suncheonman National Garden, Dasoni Cake Cafe, Kim Teacher Fitness, Jo Gang-hoon Studio, and Suncheon Seonhye School?have been closed, and disinfection is being conducted along their movement paths.
Additionally, detailed movement paths will be promptly disclosed to citizens via the city hall website and emergency text messages as they are confirmed.

Meanwhile, Suncheon City raised social distancing to Level 2 on the 21st, and on the 23rd, Mayor Heo Seok of Suncheon urged citizens in a public address, stating, “We must unite the strength of all citizens to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” and requested active cooperation from citizens by saying, “Although it is difficult and challenging, please be sure to wear masks and refrain from going out.”
