[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] The 101st confirmed COVID-19 case in Chungbuk, who tested positive after coming into contact with his mother who attended the Gwanghwamun rally in Seoul, has been identified as a doctor at a general hospital in Cheongju.
According to Cheongju City, Doctor A received a notification from health authorities on the afternoon of the 21st that his mother had contracted COVID-19 and underwent specimen collection testing. Subsequently, at around 12:20 AM on the 23rd, Doctor A's positive diagnosis was confirmed, and he is currently receiving treatment after being transferred to Cheongju Medical Center.
It was confirmed that Doctor A treated patients for two days after contact with his mother. Health authorities are conducting diagnostic tests on more than 80 patients and medical staff who overlapped with Doctor A's movements.

Cheongju City stated that although the doctor properly followed hospital quarantine rules such as wearing a mask and undergoing fever checks, specimen testing is being conducted on patients and medical staff within the hospital as a proactive preventive measure.
