[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] As a result of a full-scale COVID-19 screening of about 9,500 police officers deployed to maintain order at the Liberation Day rally on the 15th, five confirmed cases were reported.
According to the National Police Agency on the 21st, COVID-19 testing was completed for 9,536 police officers deployed to the rally around Gwanghwamun, Seoul, by 6 p.m. that day.
Following four confirmed cases reported the previous day, one new case was confirmed on this day. All five are affiliated with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. Among the four confirmed cases from the previous day, one was transferred to a hospital, two to a residential treatment center according to health authorities' guidelines, and the remaining one is awaiting transfer while under self-quarantine.
Although all tests have been completed, some police officers have not yet received their results, so the possibility of additional confirmed cases cannot be ruled out.

A police official stated, "According to health authorities' guidelines, confirmed cases' unit members will self-quarantine for 14 days, and for safety reasons, other unit members will also self-quarantine for 7 days."
