Some COVID-19 Infection Routes Remain Unclear Among Confirmed Cases in Jeonbuk Region
22 Confirmed Cases After Gwanghwamun Rally
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jaehee] In Jeonbuk, where COVID-19 cases have surged after the Gwanghwamun rally, there are confirmed cases with unknown infection routes.
According to Jeonbuk health authorities on the 21st, four people were confirmed positive for COVID-19 from the previous day until the morning of the 21st, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the province to 22 since the Gwanghwamun rally.
Since the Gwanghwamun rally (on the 15th), confirmed cases have steadily occurred: 1 on the 16th, 7 on the 17th, 2 on the 18th, 5 on the 19th, 5 on the 20th, and 2 on the 21st, totaling 22 cases, numbered from 44 to 65 in the province.
The problem is that the epidemiological links for confirmed cases 44, 58, 60, and 61 in the province are unclear.
In the case of a confirmed patient in their 70s from Iksan, they stated that although they visited Seoul to attend the Gwanghwamun rally, they did not actually participate.
Regarding this, city health authorities confirmed with the person in Gapyeong whom the patient visited that they did not attend the Gwanghwamun rally, leaving the infection route unknown.
Also, confirmed cases 62 and 63 in the province, who were diagnosed the previous day, were found to have had contact with confirmed case 60, whose infection route is uncertain, during a church small group meeting on the 18th.
