Sharing COVID-19 Response Experience and Quarantine Know-How
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] On the 21st, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy inspected the COVID-19 response readiness of 40 public institutions under its jurisdiction.
Lee Ho-jun, Director of Planning and Coordination at the Ministry, held a video conference in the morning with 40 public institutions under its supervision, including Korea Electric Power Corporation, to check the COVID-19 response status and discuss future management plans.
Director Lee requested that public institutions actively participate in the national quarantine efforts to overcome the crisis, given the recent severe spread of COVID-19.
He particularly emphasized the strict compliance with the 'Level 2 Social Distancing' measures implemented since the 16th, urging each employee to follow quarantine guidelines and calling for the highest executives' attention.
The Ministry explained the current COVID-19 situation and government-level countermeasures, while each institution shared their COVID-19 response experiences and quarantine know-how.
Korea South-East Power Co., Ltd. presented on behalf of five power generation companies (South-East Power, Korea Southern Power, Korea East-West Power, Korea Western Power, Korea Midland Power) the 'Emergency Response Plan for Infectious Diseases' established and implemented since February.
South-East Power has formed an emergency response headquarters to ensure continuity of core operations and stable power supply, strengthening access control and quarantine measures.
Director Lee emphasized, "Please faithfully carry out the inherent duties of public institutions to ensure stable operation and management of national key facilities, thorough implementation of quarantine measures, and stable supply of public services to the people, so that there is no inconvenience to the national economy and daily life."
Participants agreed that the next one to two weeks are a very critical period to prevent nationwide spread of cluster infections and decided to concentrate all organizational capabilities for response.
