Jeonnam Fire Department Provides Medical Services to Flood Victims During Heavy Rainfall
119 Ambulance Deployment: Emergency Treatment and Health Consultation Twice Daily
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) announced on the 18th that it will deploy 119 ambulance teams to provide 'medical services' to disaster victims in temporary housing facilities due to heavy rain.
There are about 600 disaster victims in 19 locations across the province who lost their homes due to the heavy rain, and they work on restoration during the day and live in temporary housing facilities at night.
Accordingly, Jeonnam Fire will visit the temporary housing facilities twice a day, in the morning and afternoon, to check the health status of the disaster victims and provide 119 ambulance services such as hospital transport in case of patients.
Jeonnam Fire's medical services have been ongoing since the 14th and will cover 19 temporary housing facilities for disaster victims in Gokseong, Gurye, Damyang, Naju, and Jangseong until the restoration is completed.
The 119 ambulance teams, consisting of eight ambulances in the jurisdiction, will provide medical services including emergency treatment, health consultations, and distribution of commonly used medicines.
Ma Jaeyoon, Chief of Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, said, "We will do our best to support the health management of disaster victims suffering in temporary shelters so that they can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
