Wando-gun Supports Recovery Efforts in Flood-Affected Areas of Jeonnam
County Governor Shin Woo-cheol Visits Disaster Site, Delivers Relief Supplies, and Encourages Volunteers

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyungpil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do recently supported relief supplies to flood-affected areas in Jeollanam-do and contributed to recovery efforts.
According to Wando-gun on the 18th, a volunteer group of 120 public officials, organized together with the Wando-gun Public Officials Labor Union, visited Gokseong-gun, Gurye-gun, and Damyang-gun on the 13th and 14th to participate in recovery work.
On the 14th, Shin Woo-cheol, the governor of Wando-gun, visited Gokseong-gun and Gurye-gun in succession to personally deliver relief supplies prepared by the county and encourage the volunteer group working on site.
The relief supplies consisted of seaweed noodles made from Wando-produced seaweed, enough for 7,200 people (worth approximately 12.5 million KRW).
These were sent by the Wando-gun Public Officials Labor Union and local organizations (Wando-gun, NH Nonghyup Wando Branch, Wando Geumil Fisheries Cooperative, Wando Soan Fisheries Cooperative, Jeonnam Western Fishery Aquaculture Cooperative, Wando Nonghyup, Nohwa Nonghyup, Cheongsan Nonghyup, Soan Nonghyup) and donors (Domba Fisheries CEO Lee Inhwan, Bada Gadeukhi CEO Moon Kigyeong) with a request to deliver them to the two local governments.
Shin Woo-cheol, governor of Wando-gun, said, “Seeing the site, the damage is so severe that it is heartbreaking and weighs heavily on my mind. I offer my sincere condolences to the residents suffering from the flood damage, and Wando-gun will also contribute to ensure that recovery work proceeds quickly so that daily life can be restored as soon as possible.”
Meanwhile, members of the Wando-gun Sports Council (Chairman Yoo Byungwook), the Wando-gun Women’s Association Council (8 organizations), and the Korean Red Cross Wando Sweat Drop Volunteer Society (Chairman Kim Heeju) also visited the flood-affected area in Gurye-gun and worked hard on recovery efforts.
