Geumcheon-gu Announces Recruitment of 28 Remaining Newlywed Housing Units for Occupants
Seoul Resident Registration, Supply of Remaining 28 Households for Newlyweds Within 7 Years of Marriage... Rent at 50% of Market Price, Up to 8 Years Residency if Eligibility Maintained... Applications Accepted Aug 24-28 at Geumcheon-gu Office Integrated Welfare Counseling Room (7th Floor)
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) is recruiting residents for the remaining units of newlywed couple housing from the 24th to the 28th.
The district, in collaboration with Seoul Housing & Communities Corporation (SH), has prepared a total of 60 newlywed couple housing units to alleviate housing insecurity for newlyweds: 36 units of Dodam Dodam newlywed housing in Siheung 1-dong, Geumcheon-gu in 2018, and 24 units of social mix-type newlywed housing in Gasan-dong in 2019.
The remaining units being recruited this time include 21 units of social mix-type newlywed housing and 7 units of Dodam Dodam newlywed housing, totaling 28 units.
Applicants must be newlywed couples within 7 years of marriage (including prospective and remarried couples), registered as non-homeowners in Seoul, and have a monthly average income of 70% or less of the previous year's urban worker average income.
The rent is less than 50% of the surrounding market price, and the basic lease period is 2 years, with a maximum residence period of up to 8 years if eligibility is maintained.
Detailed information on eligibility, application locations, and rent can be found on the Geumcheon-gu Office and SH Corporation websites under Notices & Announcements.
The district will conduct income and asset investigations for applicants and announce the final residents on November 23. On December 4, room allocation and community education will be held.
Residents will sign contracts with SH Corporation in December and move in by early March of the following year.
Meanwhile, the district’s newlywed housing is a community-type housing where households of the same type live together, equipped with shared spaces and management regulations to solve common issues such as childcare through community activities. SH Corporation’s community coordinators support residents in developing their capabilities.
Geumcheon-gu Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon said, “There is a better life on the path we walk together rather than alone, so today, demand-tailored housing continues to evolve diversely to suit the target residents. We will provide more detailed support for housing welfare policies so that the lives of individuals and families are no longer shaken by housing problems.”
