Turkey's Daily New COVID-19 Cases Drop to 1,100s After Four Days
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] The number of new COVID-19 cases in Turkey has dropped to the 1,100 range for the first time in four days.
On the 17th (local time), the Turkish Ministry of Health reported that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases increased by 1,192 from the previous day, reaching 249,309.
Turkey's daily new cases had decreased to 700-800 in early June, but have been rising again following the easing of restrictions such as the reopening of restaurants and cafes. On the 14th, the number even exceeded 1,200.
The cumulative death toll increased by 19 from the previous day, totaling 5,974.

The Ministry of Health stated that 65,956 COVID-19 diagnostic tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of tests to 5,725,242. The total number of recovered patients is 230,969, with a recovery rate of 92.6%.
