[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The Jung-gu Cultural Foundation Chungmu Art Center is accepting applications for the 'Black Creative Musical Award 2020' until the 28th.
The Black Creative Musical Award is a creative musical competition aimed at discovering repertoire for small and medium-sized theaters. Selected works will have the opportunity for a reading performance on October 24th at the Chungmu Art Center's Medium Theater Black. The competition is divided into a general (competitive) category and a university student (non-competitive) category, with three works selected for the general category and one for the university student category.
Chungmu Art Center will provide development funds of 10 million KRW for the general category and 3 million KRW for the university student category to prepare for the reading performance, as well as cover all production costs related to the reading performance.
On the day of the Black Creative Musical Award on October 24th, the winner will be determined through judging by both the jury and the audience. The winning team will receive a prize of 20 million KRW for production costs and the opportunity to rent the Chungmu Art Center Medium Theater Black for four weeks in March next year.
Applicants can be individuals or groups with original creative works that have completed scripts and music and plan to stage the production. They should be preparing to advance to the next stage from showcases or trial performances with fewer than 20 paid shows.
