According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 16th, as of midnight, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Gyeongbuk area remained the same as the previous day at 1,370. The number of recovered patients and deaths also remained unchanged at 1,300 and 58, respectively.
Earlier, a 39-year-old firefighter in Pohang who had visited the home of a confirmed case in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province on the 9th and 10th, was tested positive after showing fever symptoms at the Pohang Health Center on the 13th and was hospitalized at Andong Medical Center. Subsequently, all 82 people tested, including contacts and firefighters who used the same space, were confirmed negative. This marks the first community infection in the Pohang area in 149 days since March 17.
