According to the Office of Education on the 15th, the Jamboree national representatives will conduct local promotions related to the Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree under the theme ‘Falling for Scouts Along the Breath of a Thousand Years’ in the Jeonju Hanok Village area.
The Jamboree national representatives, selected by the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education to ensure the successful hosting of the ‘2023 Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree,’ consist of a total of 72 members ranging from 6th grade elementary students to 3rd year high school students.
This promotional activity was prepared to promote the Jamboree event through scout activities in Jeonju Hanok Village, the center of the local community, and to foster pride as scouts.
Additionally, it aims to enhance the scouts’ capabilities through local exploration to cultivate patriotism and mission-solving experiences based on tracking and signs.
The promotional activities will comply with COVID-19 prevention guidelines, with teams of 8 to 12 members organized into 8 groups/sections, gathering and conducting activities at locations such as Gyeonggijeon, Omokdae, and Hanbyeokdang to maintain social distancing.
Furthermore, various experiential activities will be held, including photography matching the theme, learning Pansori, traditional treasure hunts, native speaker-guided tours, archery, traditional games, writing poems on the Jamboree theme, and learning Samulnori.
An official from the Office of Education stated, “The Jamboree national representatives will act as ambassadors for the World Scout Jamboree, increasing interest in the Jamboree,” and added, “We will strengthen the capabilities of the members through participation in various international exchange activities and scout-centered programs.”
