K-water Provides 340 Million KRW Support for Heavy Rain Damage Areas... Employees Engage in Volunteer Activities
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Korea Water Resources Corporation is launching emergency support to help residents affected by nationwide heavy rainfall.
About 450 members of the corporation's volunteer group, 'Mulsarang Nanumdan,' have been conducting volunteer activities since the 10th in severely affected areas such as Danyang-gun in Chungbuk, Geumsan-gun in Chungnam, Gurye-gun in Jeonnam, and Hadong-gun and Hapcheon-gun in Gyeongnam.
Additionally, approximately 730,000 bottles of drinking water have been provided to the affected areas, and two mobile laundry and bathing support vehicles called 'K-Water Sarangsaemteo' are visiting three regions including Danyang-gun and Gokseong-gun in Jeonnam to offer rotating support.
Furthermore, an emergency relief fund of 200 million KRW has been raised and will be delivered on the 14th to the legally authorized relief organization, the National Disaster Relief Association (Hope Bridge), and local governments. An additional 140 million KRW will be provided to support the delivery of relief supplies and recovery activities in the affected areas.
