Gimje-si, Regular Training for Dedicated Managers of Children's Preferred Food Products
Inspection and Guidance of 87 Cooking and Sales Establishments
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] Gimje City, Jeonbuk, has launched regular training to create a safe dietary environment for children and improve the job skills of dedicated managers.
On the 14th, the city's Health and Hygiene Department announced that it conducted regular training for dedicated managers of children's preferred foods to promote children's dietary safety and strengthen expertise during guidance and inspections.
Dedicated managers are qualified consumer food hygiene inspectors who have a strong interest in children's food safety, and six are currently active in Gimje City.
According to the Special Act on the Safety Management of Children's Dietary Life, they guide and inspect 87 children's preferred food cooking and sales establishments located within the children's food safety protection zones around schools at least once a month.
They also encourage hygienic and safe food preparation, display, and sales, and provide education on hygiene and nutrition.
This regular training covered topics such as the policy direction and major initiatives for children's dietary safety management, the duties and activity guidelines of dedicated managers, prohibition of sales of emotionally harmful foods, and prevention of food poisoning.

Heo Jeong-gu, head of the Health and Hygiene Department, said, “Through this training, the professionalism and job skills of dedicated managers will be enhanced, and hygiene inspections and education and promotional activities related to nutrition at preferred food cooking and sales establishments within the food safety protection zones will be strengthened, greatly contributing to the creation of a safe dietary environment for children in Gimje City.”
