Two People in Their 20s Sent to Prosecution for Visiting Parents' Home in the US During Self-Quarantine
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A man in his 20s who violated self-quarantine after returning from the United States and then re-entered Korea after leaving the country again has been referred to the prosecution.
On the 13th, the Suseo Police Station in Seoul announced that they had sent Jeong Mo (23) to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment on charges of violating the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.
Jeong, who entered Korea from the United States on June 7, is accused of leaving for the United States again just four days into his self-quarantine period and re-entering Korea on the 27th of the same month.
It is reported that Jeong stated he urgently left the country to handle issues related to his U.S. visa. Gangnam-gu identified this fact through its own investigation and filed a complaint against Jeong.

Additionally, Wi Mo (24), who was also reported by Gangnam-gu for violating self-quarantine measures, was confirmed to have been sent to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment in mid-last month. Wi is accused of visiting his parents' house in Gyeongnam on the 18th, two days after receiving a self-quarantine notice on June 16.
