[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] The Gwanak Police Station in Seoul announced on the 13th that it has applied for an arrest warrant for a man in his 40s, identified as A, on charges of killing his mother in her 70s (parricide).
According to the police, A is suspected of killing his mother, B, with a weapon at their home in Gwanak-gu in the early morning of the 11th.
On the same day, A went to a nearby police station to report the crime and surrender himself.
The police who responded to the report found B deceased at the scene, and there were no signs of intrusion by an outsider.
