Winia Daewoo Removes Daewoo Signage from Overseas Brands and Changes to 'Winia'
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Winia Daewoo announced on the 13th that it will retire the Daewoo (DAEWOO) brand overseas and replace it with Winia (WINIA).
Winia Daewoo explained that Winia is the comprehensive home appliance family brand of its parent company, Daeyu Winia Group, and it was deemed necessary to unify the message and image consistently for exposure.
Earlier, Winia Daewoo decided to stop using the Daewoo trademark overseas following the expiration of the trademark license agreement with POSCO International on June 30.
Winia Daewoo emphasized that since last year, after changing the group’s integrated CI (Corporate Identity) and BI (Brand Identity), it has conducted various events and local marketing overseas under the Winia brand, and thus believes it can secure sufficient competitiveness with the Winia brand going forward.
To mark the launch of the new overseas brand, Winia Daewoo will undertake a large-scale brand renewal. Starting advertising campaigns under the Winia brand in Mexico, which records the highest overseas sales, as well as in Chile, it plans to further strengthen the premium brand image in Latin America.
