Accepting Nominations for the 24th Gangseo District Residents' Award Candidates
Discovering and Awarding Unsung Heroes with Exceptional Volunteer Spirit and Community Role Models by the 28th
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) is actively seeking individuals and organizations who have dedicated themselves to the development of the local community to serve as role models and to boost the pride of residents. They are accepting nominations for the "24th Gangseo Resident Award" until the 28th.
The award categories include ▲Community Development ▲Resident Harmony and Volunteerism ▲Environmental Protection ▲Culture and Sports Development ▲Public Morals, with a total of up to 9 recipients selected, including one grand prize winner.
While the principle is to select one winner per category, up to two may be chosen if there are many outstanding candidates.
Nominees must be residents of Gangseo-gu for at least three consecutive years as of October 11 this year, including individuals, organizations (including businesses), or members thereof who have made contributions in the respective categories. They must be registered residents of Gangseo-gu and receive recommendations from at least 20 residents who are not part of the same household.
To nominate, submit a recommendation letter signed by residents, a record of achievements, a resident registration abstract (including address change history for the past three years), a consent form for personal information use, and other supporting documents to the local community service center or the relevant department for each category.
The final awardees will be decided after fact-checking of achievements and review by the award committee, with the awards ceremony scheduled to take place in October.
A district official stated, "There are local heroes quietly serving their neighbors around us," and added, "We hope residents will recommend those who have silently contributed to Gangseo-gu and their neighbors behind the scenes."

The Gangseo Resident Award was first established in 1997 and has honored a total of 182 recipients to date.
