Police Officer Dismissed for Drunk Driving, Sexual Assault, and Illegal Filming
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] A police lieutenant A from Dongdaemun Police Station in Seoul, who was handed over to the prosecution in custody on charges of sexual assault and illegal filming following a drunk driving accident, has ultimately been dismissed.
Dongdaemun Police Station announced on the 12th that it held a disciplinary committee meeting for Lieutenant A at 10:30 a.m. the previous day and dismissed him.
Lieutenant A is accused of sexually assaulting a woman B who was with him at a drinking party in Mapo-gu last June and illegally filming her. It is known that Lieutenant A also illegally filmed parts of other women's bodies besides Ms. B.
Earlier, the Seoul Mapo Police Station sent Lieutenant A to the prosecution in custody on the 17th of last month on charges of quasi-rape and violation of the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (filming using cameras, etc.).

Lieutenant A, who was affiliated with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency headquarters, was previously booked by the police in May for causing an accident by hitting an outdoor air conditioner unit of a building while driving under the influence. Afterward, Lieutenant A was reassigned to Dongdaemun Police Station but did not actually report to work due to a suspension.
