Visit to Civil Complaint Site, Listening to Difficulties
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] Jeong Heon-yul, mayor of Iksan City, is actively engaging in communication administration by visiting local complaint sites and listening to residents' difficulties.
On the 11th, Mayor Jeong visited Chunpo-myeon, located in the border area adjacent to nearby cities and counties, to collect residents' difficulties and opinions and seek improvement measures.
The Gudam Village in Chunpo-myeon visited that day is an area adjacent to Dodo-dong, Jeonju City, and is facing residents' opposition as the Jeonju Battalion is scheduled to relocate following the Airborne Battalion. Additionally, Munjong Village has been causing serious complaints due to plans to build a large-scale livestock barn in nearby Samnye-eup.
A resident A of Gudam Village in Chunpo said, "Since the Jeonju Airborne Battalion moved into Dodo-dong, Jeonju, residents have been suffering from the roar of military aircraft heard from dawn," adding, "If the Jeonju Battalion also relocates here, Chunpo residents will endure even greater pain."
Also, resident B of Munjong Village stated, "Due to the livestock barn being built in Eojeon-ri, Samnye-eup, Wanju County, citizens are expected to suffer greatly from swarms of insects, barn odors, and noise," demanding active resolution of environmental issues.
