On the 11th, Gachon University Gil Medical Center announced that the newlywed couple and the husband's father visited the hospital and met with the hospital director, delivering 110 million KRW with a request to use it for children with heart disease overseas and economically disadvantaged children at home and abroad who cannot receive treatment. The couple immediately transferred the congratulatory money to the account at the donation site that day.
According to Gil Medical Center, the couple decided to donate their congratulatory money to help those in need after their wedding held in July. The husband, Mr. A, explained that after visiting the hospital with his father during his childhood, he happened to see a child with heart disease who came to Korea from another country for treatment, which inspired him to want to help them.
Gil Medical Center plans to use the donation for the treatment costs of underprivileged children and adolescents both domestically and internationally, including the heart disease children invitation treatment project, in accordance with the donor's wishes.
Meanwhile, since 1996 until last year, Gil Medical Center has carried out heart disease treatment activities for over 430 children and adolescents from other countries. However, this year, the project has been put on hold due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection.
