According to the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency on the 11th, the Cyber Investigation Unit began a preliminary investigation after posts mocking victims and disparaging the Honam region in connection with the heavy rain damage scenes were posted on some SNS platforms between the 8th and 9th.
Some SNS posts reportedly included phrases such as "Jeollado Odengtang restaurants" and "Gwangju OO who are punished even after death," which incite regional hatred.
