Cleaning and Supply Support for Elderly Living Alone in Flooded Homes Due to Heavy Rainfall

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Seo Young-seo] On the 11th, Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that on the 9th, about 30 people including the Mangun-myeon Youth Association (President Jeong Guk-jin) and Mangun-myeon Office staff participated in support efforts to restore damage for elderly living alone whose houses were flooded due to heavy rain.
The flooded house belonged to an elderly person named Kim (88 years old) living alone, where water had risen up to the master bedroom due to the heavy rain on the 7th, leaving the house filled with mud and debris.
The youth members and public officials who participated in the volunteer work removed unusable household goods and appliances as well as the mud filling the rooms, and worked hard cleaning every corner of the house to restore the damage. They also delivered blankets and essential daily necessities.
The affected elderly person expressed gratitude, saying, "I felt hopeless due to this flood damage, but I am thankful that many people came to help."
