Mirae Asset Global Investments announced on the 11th that the net assets of the TIGER Secondary Battery Theme ETF, which invests in domestic secondary battery-related companies with expected long-term growth potential, have exceeded 200 billion KRW. The net assets have more than doubled compared to the end of May, showing a return of nearly 75% this year. Following the sharp rise in secondary battery-related stocks such as LG Chem and Samsung SDI, attention is also focusing on the secondary battery theme in the ETF market.
This product invests in stocks closely related to secondary batteries, which can directly benefit from the growth of the global electric vehicle market and energy storage systems (ESS). The underlying index, the 'WISE Secondary Battery Theme Index,' conducts artificial intelligence (AI) keyword analysis on stocks covered in securities firms' reports, selecting those with 'secondary battery' among the top keywords for each stock. Then, after verifying the composition of secondary battery-related sales through business reports, stocks are selected using a market capitalization-weighted method. The constituent stocks are broadly divided into suppliers such as materials, equipment, and battery cells, and demand-side companies such as finished product manufacturers.
