Busan Gijang-gun Hosts Annual Book Review Contest
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan Gijang-gun is holding the "2020 Gijang-gun Book of the Year Reading Contest" for elementary school students in Gijang-gun until October 31.
Now in its third year, this contest is part of the reading habit campaign "Meeting Gijang Children’s Books: One City, One Book," where participants read one book together.
Participants are required to read one of the three nominated books for Gijang-gun Book of the Year: △ Emergency! Virus Attack △ Life, When You Know It, You Learn to Love It △ What to Do? Plastic Comes Back Around! and write a book report. The length should be at least 5 manuscript pages or one A4 page.
To apply, download the form from the Jeonggwan Library website and submit the application form and book report via the website, mail, email, or in person.
A panel of judges consisting of children’s authors and reading experts will select 19 winners for the Gijang-gun Mayor’s Award (1 Grand Prize, 3 Excellence Awards, 5 Encouragement Awards, 10 Honorable Mentions) and 3 winners for the Busan Metropolitan City Superintendent of Education Award.
