The survey will be conducted over a total of four weeks from the 10th of this month to September 4th. Based on the survey results, the city plans to gather various opinions from citizens on the recognition of the somewhat unfamiliar term BRT, the handling plan for Changwon Square, a symbolic space of the city, and the management of bicycle-only roads upon the introduction of BRT, to be referenced during the design phase.
BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) is a central bus-only lane system currently operated in Seoul, Busan, Sejong, and other cities.
The Changwon BRT project involves establishing a Bus Rapid Transit system over an 18 km section from Yukho Square to Gaeumjeong Intersection. It is a new transportation system construction project requiring a total of 58.7 billion KRW, including 29.2 billion KRW in national funding, to be completed by 2025.
