POSCO Supports Youth Employment... Launches 'POSCO Youth Hope Sharing' Program
Anyone Aged 34 or Older with a High School Diploma or Higher Can Apply
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] POSCO is taking decisive action to support youth employment, which has become difficult due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to POSCO on the 9th, they will select 40 trainees who wish to work at POSCO’s Pohang and Gwangyang steelworks partner companies or small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and conduct a two-month employment support program this year as well, providing training in job skills, personality, and more.
After completing the program, trainees are connected to partner company recruitment. Since 2005, the employment rate of trainees who completed the training has reached an impressive 95%. Last year, a total of 207 people participated in the training, and among them, 167 were hired by POSCO partner companies and SMEs, resulting in an employment rate close to 80%.
The application period is from July 27 to August 31, and preference will be given to those holding certifications in ▲mechanical ▲electrical ▲crane fields.
Applicants must be 34 years old or younger and have at least a high school diploma. The POSCO SME Consortium Secretariat will review applications received during the one-month period until August 31 and announce the final selected candidates on September 14.
To apply, access the POSCO SME Consortium education system and upload your resume and self-introduction letter.
Selected trainees will receive job training such as ▲maintenance practice ▲overhead crane operation ▲electric welding, along with liberal arts and personality education at the Gwangyang Technical Education Center located near the Gwangyang Steelworks for two months (September 16 to November 24).
