Jeonju City Accelerates Key Projects Through Departmental Cooperation and Communication
Operation of Administrative Councils by 11 Sectors
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] Jeonju City, Jeollabuk-do, is strengthening cooperation and communication between departments to efficiently and swiftly promote core projects in the fields of culture, urban development, and welfare.
On the 7th, the city announced plans to operate 11 administrative councils in the cultural, urban, and welfare sectors starting from the 24th to secure the execution capability of major core projects.
The city currently operates six administrative councils in the areas of ▲ Ten Million Trees Garden City ▲ Population Policy ▲ Welfare for the Disabled ▲ Integrated Care ▲ Ajung Lake Landmark Development ▲ Urban Regeneration. While further strengthening cooperation within existing councils, it plans to add five more councils in other sectors.
The newly added administrative councils will cover ▲ Artist Welfare ▲ Eco-friendly Transportation City ▲ Library ▲ Yaho Nori ▲ (Tentative Name) Palbok-dong District Landmark Development. Through this, the city aims to lead sustainable regional innovation centered on people, ecology, and culture.
First, the city designates this year as the inaugural year for artist welfare and plans to actively promote welfare policies for artists through the Artist Welfare Administrative Council, centered on the Cultural Policy Division and linked with the Urban Regeneration Division, Housing Welfare Division, Job and Youth Policy Division, and Social Solidarity Support Division.
Additionally, the Eco-friendly Transportation City Administrative Council will be operated to establish a safe and convenient transportation system for public transit, bicycles, pedestrians, and the disabled. The Library Administrative Council will also begin operation to expand citizen-centered library infrastructure and strengthen the role of libraries as community hubs.
Furthermore, the Yaho Nori Administrative Council will be newly operated to continuously promote Yaho play policies such as Yaho Forest Playground, Book Playground, and Art Playground. The (Tentative Name) Palbok-dong District Landmark Development Administrative Council will also be newly established to transform the entire Palbok-dong area, home to a deteriorated industrial complex, into a tourist destination where culture and art thrive.
Through these administrative councils, the city plans to regularly check the progress of major projects and actively respond to ensure efficient advancement of municipal issues by strengthening organic cooperation and communication.
