Busan Gijang-gun, 'Humanities on the Road' Online Lecture
Gijang Library and Jeonggwan Library to Hold Programs on 'Old Age' and 'Sea' Themes in September and October
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan Gijang-gun will operate the "Humanities on the Road" program at Gijang Library and Jeonggwan Library as non-face-to-face online lectures from September to October 2020.
The "Library Humanities on the Road Project" is a public contest project hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Library Association, and Gijang Library and Jeonggwan Library were selected.
Gijang Library's program is themed "Solid Happiness Met in Advance through Gerontology" and consists of three lectures: Approaching a journey for happiness and reflection in old age, The power to cross old age! Learning from future studies and age management, and Humanistic writing that adds depth and communication to leisure in old age.
Each session includes 3 lectures and 1 follow-up meeting, totaling 10 lectures.
Jeonggwan Library's program, themed "Gijang Odyssey, Opening the Patterns of People," includes a total of 5 lectures: marine environment and human life, the sea depicted in famous paintings and its humanistic imagination, the vitality and liveliness of Gijang Sea seen through Oh Young-su's "Gaetmaeul," discovering Gijang's humanistic resources, and the value of local humanities.
This year, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the local community, all lectures and follow-up meetings will be conducted as non-face-to-face online lectures.

Citizens wishing to participate can apply from the 11th through the websites, phone, or visits to Gijang Library and Jeonggwan Library, with a first-come, first-served limit of 20 people per library.
