Lee Jae-myung's Sharp Remarks to Interim Chairman Kim Jong-in: "Please Make Party Officials Keep Quiet"
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, earnestly requested Kim Jong-in, Emergency Committee Chairman of the United Future Party, to crack down on party officials including current floor leader Joo Ho-young, who are misleading the public by claiming that the land transaction permit system and the forced sale of non-business real estate by companies were created under the current government, calling these policies communist or unconstitutional, when in fact they were all established by the Democratic Justice Party and the Saenuri Party, predecessors of the United Future Party.
On the 6th, through a post on Facebook titled "A Candid Advice to Kim Jong-in, Emergency Committee Chairman of the United Future Party," Governor Lee stated, "As the real estate market was disrupted by profit-driven companies holding large amounts of non-business real estate for investment or speculation, the Democratic Justice Party under the Roh Tae-woo administration, a predecessor of the United Future Party, forced companies to sell non-business real estate," adding, "Even profit-driven companies were prevented from making money through real estate investment or speculation, and the person who planned and promoted this policy at the time was none other than the current Emergency Committee Chairman of the United Future Party, Kim Jong-in."
He further said, "At that time, no one criticized this as communist or unconstitutional for restricting corporate activities," and argued, "Regarding real estate acquired and held not essential for corporate activities or personal life but for investment or speculation, the forced sale system was much more invasive of rights than the new acquisition permit system, yet it was not treated as it is now."
In particular, he criticized, "The claim by United Future Party floor leader Joo Ho-young that the acquisition permit system for non-residential housing, which is much weaker than the forced 'sale' of non-business real estate, is unconstitutional or communist is an act of denying the history and achievements of the United Future Party and a self-destructive act that undermines the party's authority and credibility."
He also added, "The land transaction permit system was created by the Saenuri Party, a predecessor of the United Future Party, and the Park Chung-hee administration, and since the Constitutional Court has ruled it constitutional, criticizing it now as unconstitutional or communist is a self-contradictory false claim."
Therefore, Governor Lee requested, "Floor leader Joo Ho-young, focusing on party interests and tactics, is disparaging the history and major achievements of the United Future Party and Emergency Committee Chairman Kim Jong-in, thereby damaging the party's authority and credibility," and asked, "Please ensure that party officials exercise caution in external expressions and criticisms of opponents, conducting them within a justifiable scope based on objective facts after careful review."

He concluded, "Contradictory statements outside common sense undermine authority and credibility, and it goes without saying that public expressions by a political party must be cautious," emphasizing, "Unless it is a street fight among ruffians, the public disputes of a political party should be conducted with dignity based on common sense and facts as a minimum duty to the sovereign people."
