Assemblyman Jo O-seop Secures 1 Billion KRW in Special Grants for Construction of Complex Public Library and More
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jo Oseop, a member of the National Assembly (Democratic Party of Korea·Gwangju Buk-gu Gap), announced on the 5th that he secured a special grant of 1 billion KRW, including 700 million KRW for the construction of the Jungheung Complex Public Library in Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, and 300 million KRW for the expansion and remodeling of the Duam 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center.
With this national budget secured, the construction of the Jungheung Complex Public Library is expected to gain momentum and revitalize the Jungheung-dong and Im-dong areas, which have been suffering from urban hollowing.
Additionally, the Duam 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center is expected to be transformed into a resident autonomy-centered space by expanding the resident autonomy program room and remodeling the existing building through this expansion and remodeling project.
Assemblyman Jo said, “The Jungheung-dong area in Buk-gu, Gwangju, is expected to see a rapid influx of population due to redevelopment projects, so there was a need to expand cultural infrastructure facilities. The Duam 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center is also over 30 years old, with limited space and aging facilities, causing significant inconvenience to residents due to the lack of even a space for the resident autonomy council.”
