Songjeong Middle School, a public alternative school in Gangseo-gu, Busan, announced on the 5th that it conducted a 'Teacher-Student Healing Camp' camping event on the school playground by grade from August 3 to 5.
This was carried out using school facilities to comfort students' disappointment due to outdoor experiential learning restrictions caused by COVID-19 and to foster a sense of community.
The event was conducted over one night and two days, with students and teachers pitching tents on the playground by class in the afternoon and cleaning up the tents and event area the next morning.
The program was held on different days by grade: first graders on August 3, second graders on the 4th, and third graders from the 5th, each participating in the one-night, two-day program.
Students and teachers engaged in various interactive activities such as taste contests, warm-up games by class, and writing rolling papers to communicate and empathize with each other.
First grader Kang Mo said, "Although I see my teachers and friends every day, staying overnight together on the playground allowed me to understand them in a different way."
