Kakao Commerce Absorbs Kakao IX's 'Retail Business' Through Merger
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Kakao Commerce will absorb and merge the retail business division of Kakao IX.
Kakao announced this on the 5th. Through the split merger, the retail business previously operated by Kakao IX will be merged into Kakao Commerce, while the licensing business will be merged into Kakao headquarters.
Kakao IX currently operates retail business, licensing business, and real estate business utilizing the Kakao Friends character IP (intellectual property rights).
Among these, the retail business will be split and merged into Kakao Commerce, and the licensing business will be operated by Kakao headquarters. Going forward, Kakao IX will focus solely on the real estate business.
