This year marks the 30th anniversary of German unification and the 57th anniversary since December 22, 1963, when 123 Korean miners boarded a flight to Germany from Gimpo Airport.
The university explained that this event was prepared to highlight the history of the Korean miners in Germany who endured a difficult life facing cultural differences, discrimination as East Asians, and labor condition disparities, and to discuss what kind of national respect and support can be provided to them.
