Namwon-si Supports Oral Health for Marriage Immigrants
Support of 40,000 KRW Copayment and Oral Health Education Conducted
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] The Namwon City Public Health Center in Jeonbuk is launching support for oral examinations and dental preventive care for marriage immigrants.
On the 3rd, the health center announced that it will cover the 40,000 KRW out-of-pocket expenses incurred for scaling, fluoride application, and examinations of gum condition and cavities for marriage immigrants registered as residents in Namwon City.
To this end, the health center has signed agreements with 13 local dental clinics and plans to prioritize support for about 50 marriage immigrants. The examinations can be received until December.
Before the examinations and treatments, by the 20th of this month, the health center will conduct oral health education for marriage immigrants together with the Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center, covering prevention of periodontal disease, proper tooth brushing methods, and oral health care for infants and pregnant women.
Additionally, for marriage immigrants who have difficulty communicating, interpretation services will be provided through cooperation with the Multicultural Family Support Center, and health counseling services will be offered through visits to measure blood pressure and diabetes, assess health status, and encourage attention to overall health in the future.
For inquiries regarding applications for marriage immigrant oral preventive care support and related projects, contact the health center’s Oral Health Office or the city’s Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center.
