One Female Presumed Body Found at Gapyeong Pension Burial Accident Site
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] On the afternoon of the 3rd, a body presumed to be female was found at the site of a pension burial accident in Sanyu-ri, Gapyeong-eup, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province.
The fire authorities stated that the body was discovered around 3:40 PM during the process of removing pension debris and soil piled up at the site using heavy equipment.
The police believe that the body is likely to be B, a woman in her 30s and the daughter of A, the pension owner in his 70s who went missing, and plan to transfer the body to a nearby hospital for an autopsy.
Earlier that day, at around 10:40 AM, a 119 emergency call was received reporting that soil had collapsed and buried a pension in Sanyu-ri, Gapyeong-eup. Guests staying at the pension safely evacuated, but it is currently estimated that four people, including the pension owner, family members, and staff, were unable to escape, and rescue operations using heavy equipment are underway.

A police official explained, "It appears that the pension owner, his daughter, and grandson were unable to escape," adding, "According to the testimony of an employee who escaped just before the accident, it seems likely that one more pension staff member in their 40s is buried, so the search is ongoing."
