Developing a 'Human-like AI' That Communicates Like a Friend
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Smilegate announced on the 3rd that it has established an AI center specialized in the entertainment industry called 'Smilegate.AI,' based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Unlike existing AI technologies designed for accurate information provision such as voice recognition, image recognition, machine translation, and natural language search, Smilegate.AI aims to create a 'charming and human-like AI' that communicates like a friend, going beyond the role of a simple information provider.
Smilegate.AI plans to pursue 'Fun AI,' which researches technologies to express various human emotions such as joy, surprise, happiness, and inspiration through AI technology, and 'Human-like AI,' which studies humans themselves through empathy, communication, adaptation, and memory to develop technology that interacts like a human.
It is known that Kwon Hyuk-bin, Chief Vision Officer (CVO) and founder of Smilegate Group, actively showed interest and support in establishing the direction of 'Smilegate-style AI' and founding the center.
