Chosun University Accelerates Student Support to Overcome COVID-19 Employment Crisis
Customized Consulting and Non-Face-to-Face Programs Conducted
Diversification of Employment Support Including Overseas Jobs Also Draws Attention
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University is implementing various support measures to assist current students and graduates facing employment difficulties amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Employment support programs are being conducted even during vacation periods to further enhance students' employment capabilities.
According to Chosun University on the 2nd, the recently operated programs include ▲ Employment Success Academy 3rd term ▲ CU Gold Club ▲ Career Design Work-Book ▲ 2020 Youth Non-face-to-face JOB FAIR ▲ K-MOVE School 5th term.
The ‘Employment Success Academy’ is a program that bundles the most preferred programs by identifying the needs of the target participants through demand surveys.
Recruitment experts from 30 major domestic companies participate extensively, providing intensive employment capability enhancement training that combines face-to-face methods such as one-on-one consulting for application forms and non-face-to-face methods including NCS lectures and interview consulting. The 3rd term program was completed by the 29th of last month.
The ‘CU Gold Club’ is Chosun University's representative employment program that has been continuously loved by students for over 10 years.
It divides students' employment goals into public enterprises, large corporations, mid-sized companies, finance, etc., and offers solid employment programs tailored to each field, including aptitude and NCS learning, group study support, alumni mentoring, and practical interview training.
The Career Design Work-Book is a worksheet independently produced by Chosun University's University Job Support Center to ensure that students taking non-face-to-face classes due to COVID-19 in the first semester do not stop exploring their career paths. It is designed for students to explore their desired jobs and duties on their own and assess their employment preparation level.
Upon completing and submitting all worksheets, professional consultants from the University Job Support Center conduct non-face-to-face career counseling for the students via phone or video conferencing.
Chosun University also supports employment programs for students aiming for foreign companies, overseas employment, and students with disabilities.
The ‘2020 Youth Non-face-to-face JOB FAIR’ held by the University Job Support Center until the 29th of last month targeted students aiming for employment in foreign companies and others.
Through real-time remote video lectures (ZOOM), information on recruitment by foreign companies was delivered, and one-on-one consulting with recruitment experts was provided. Additionally, the ‘K-MOVE School,’ which offers customized education and job-matching support for students wishing to work overseas, has entered its 5th term, with increasing student satisfaction each year.
Furthermore, Chosun University plans to recruit students to participate in the ‘2020 Untact Job Fair,’ organized by Korea Economic Daily and Linkstart Co., Ltd., held online from the 18th to the 31st of this month.
In a situation where the COVID-19 pandemic has intensified employment difficulties and offline recruitment briefings have been canceled, the decision to participate in this fair was made to effectively provide employment information to job seekers.
At the fair, HR managers from major domestic companies will deliver online live broadcasts about changes in recruitment systems in the ‘post-COVID’ era and employment strategies suited to these changes.
Also attracting attention are ‘Job Talks about Companies and Duties,’ conducted by 45 current employees from companies such as Samsung Electronics and Kakao via online live broadcasts, as well as real-time employment and career counseling.
In addition, online aptitude and job competency tests, online job lectures - Careermooc lectures by job category, and AI interview simulation solutions will be provided.
The recruitment scale is 500 current students and graduates, and applications can be made through the Student Integrated Support System (CU+) extracurricular program until the 9th.
