The on-site inspection was accompanied by inspectors from Gyeongnam Province and county officials, who checked the maintenance status of safety facilities in water play areas (such as life-saving boxes, warning signs, banners) and the deployment and operation of water safety personnel, reviewing overall safety management conditions.
Expecting an increase in visitors seeking relief from the heat after the rainy season, the county has designated the period until August 31 as the intensive water safety management period, focusing administrative efforts to ensure that not a single water safety accident occurs, and is thoroughly creating safe water play zones.
In addition, prior inspections were conducted, including the installation of life-saving equipment at 12 water play management sites within the jurisdiction.
With participation from the Hamyang Fire Station, the county’s Safety and Urban Affairs Division head, and 24 water safety personnel, training on CPR, AED usage, and the use of water safety facilities is being conducted to strengthen the response capabilities to safety accidents.
Seo Chun-su, the mayor of Hamyang-gun, stated, “We are conducting thorough management and supervision to ensure that not a single water play accident occurs in our county,” and added, “We plan to devote full efforts to safety management through continuous monitoring and frequent inspections in the future.”
