Protein-Related Sales Increase... Emart Exclusively Launches Oikos
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Amid growing interest in health due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Emart announced on the 26th that it will exclusively launch the high-protein fermented yogurt "OIKOS" by the yogurt specialist manufacturer "Pulmuone Danone" on the 30th. It will be sold in packs of 6, each cup containing 100g, priced at 5,980 KRW per pack.
OIKOS is the premium yogurt brand of Danone, the world's number one fermented milk manufacturer. It is characterized by containing animal milk-derived protein and the most extensively researched Bifidus probiotic BB-12® in the world. Pulmuone Danone is a domestic joint venture between Danone and Pulmuone.
OIKOS contains 8g of protein per 1 cup (100g) of plain flavor, equivalent to 1.3 eggs, and is made from 100% milk-derived protein, providing high satiety and good absorption in the body. Additionally, it does not use artificial additives that increase the viscosity of yogurt, allowing for healthier protein intake.

Emart's release of high-protein yogurt comes as interest in health management has increased not only among middle-aged and older adults but also among young people in their 20s and 30s, leading to increased sales of protein-related products. According to Emart, from January to June, sales of protein-related products increased compared to the same period last year: protein bars and cookies by 113%, whey protein shakes by 6.3%, and protein drinks by 3%.
